Salem, NH Santa Parade Food Drive

Exchange Club Parade Food Drive a Success

You may have noticed an unusual "float" in last Sunday's Holiday Parade. Members and friends of the Exchange Club of Salem pushed 10 shopping carts along the 2-mile parade route, collecting canned and boxed foods and household paper goods from parade spectators. Many families who didn't know about the Exchange Club's food drive gave cash donations.

The effort raised a total of $637 dollars in cash and a whopping eighteen cartons of food and paper items that weighed in at over 520 pounds. The food and money were distributed to local food pantries immediately following the parade.

"People love donating and the kids, especially, love putting their donations into the shopping carts!" Exchange Club Food Drive Chairman, Andy Nelson said. "We collected twice as much as we did in last year's parade and hopefully we'll double it again next year!"

We want to thank all of the volunteers who helped out and special thanks to Centerpoint Community Church who brought a half dozen helpers. It was a great day! We also want to thank Market Basket for lending us the shopping carts." Nelson said.

Pictured here is Justine of Saints Mary and Joseph Churches accepting our donations for the Salem community. Other locations for donations went to Lazarus House and North Parish of North Andover. Thank you to all who could donate. It is a blessing to help those in need, not just at the holidays, but the whole year through.

SERVPRO Hero

On November 10th, our very own Production Manger, Steven, came to the rescue in a horrific crash on 495. The first to the scene for this car (out of 3 cars), Steven kept the gentleman responsive and even helped block traffic when the helicopter was arriving. By smashing the window, Steven released the smoke from the car, which had it not been done, may have killed the gentleman. Thank you Steven for stopping and helping in this very scary situation.
